To start, Texaco operated in a consortium were Ecaudorian State Oil company PETROECUADOR was? the mayor partner, texaco never operated alone. Overuse of oil is the problem, not the U.S. or even big corporations. Everyone who uses oil is partially to blame. We need to conserve oil use. Each one of us, from EVERY country. This was caused by Petroecuador not Texaco. Texaco ceased operations in that country in 1992 and the Ecuadorian government signed off? on their environmental remediation. This issue is a scam by corrupt Ecuadorian officials trying to screw Texaco after the fact for 15 years of Petroecuador's mess.
