That's? a really good thought especially for advanced golfers. I have found that since the hands receive information faster than any other body part (closest to the brain and golf club) and timing is crucial in starting the downswing on a correct path that for 'over the top' golfers who apply excessive pressure against the shaft prematurely that starting down with the lead hand helps them to start their swing without as much throw from the top. Thanks for taking the time to share your comments.

Just feel like you are moving your right elbow under? your left left elbow early in the downswing. It's not a big move but it lays the club off just enough to flatten out the attack angle, just a little move at the top makes a big difference at the bottom impact area. Your right elbow moves faster toward the ball/target line than your hands slightly.

Yes absolutely. The principle of this lesson will work with every club in your bag including the putter. I'm glad you enjoyed the lesson and thank you for? sharing your comments.

What a wonderfully taught lesson.. now my question:I'm assuming this move? will work for irons as well as the longer clubs? Thank You,Sir

Really pleased to read that my video has helped you to get back on track with your game. The simpler you can make it for yourself the easier it is to produce under pressure. Good luck? with your game and thanks for sharing your comments. I really appreciate the feedback.

awesome teaching. thanks!. i have been having this problem recently because my mind is too anxious/ nervous from playing plus handicap players. ? this is excellent stuff to remember to get me back on track.

It is always so pleasing to read that someone has gained some value from my videos. Congratulations on your improvement and thank? you for taking the time to share your experience. You must feel very satisfied to have your swing down to just a couple of moves thereby removing the 'excess' so to speak. I wish you continued success with your development and thank you for letting me know how you are progressing.

In my 20+ years in golf, I have never had an instructor like you explain everything so right and clearly. I have watched most of your videos over and over and applied your principles in my practice.? This is the one move that has been the game changer for me and that has helped me the most - leading with the handle, not the clubhead. On the takeaway I let my first move be the right shoulder to "glide" straight back behind me and everything falls perfectly in place for the downswing. Thanks Lawrie

I'm glad to have you? back watching the videos and I wish you the best of luck practicing and mastering the moves. Thanks for sharing your comments, I really appreciate your support.

I got away from this move that worked for a long time and lost it. I come back to watching and practicing the video over and over and got it back. For me this? is my magic move along with the knee drive toward the pocket of the left knee from a previous lesson of yours. Thank You Lawrie.

That's great, there's nothing better than discovering a simple idea or concept that helps your game. Golf is such a difficult game to learn and play only because there is so much conflicting information on the net and elsewhere. If we can break it down to 3 simple elements; 1. a swing 2. a collision or impact 3. a ball flight. Simplify the swing and we can produce a consistent impact leading to a consistent ball flight. Keep up the good? work and thanks again for commenting.

Played my first? game today with this swing-thought. Keep the club on line to the flag and hold the club on line as long as possible and amazingly it rolls over at just the right time to pick up the ball as clean as a whistle. Not one single lesson I have had has produced the result you have and it was free. Staggering!

That's great that this video lesson has helped you to gain some distance on? your shots. I know it's a simple strategy but I also know that it makes a difference if golfers will put some time into it. I'm really pleased it has worked for you and I wish you luck with it. Thanks for sharing your comments.

holy cow. I hav e struggled with over the top swing for a couple years and have lost all distance. I watched this video for a week and practiced without a ball. I just got back from the range and was hitting the ball with a gentle fade (Lefty) and it was going 230-240 yards. Before I could? barley get 200 swing as hard as I could. This was effortless. Now I just need to engrain it... I also used it for the rest of the bag......

thank you soo much. I have never hit a? 3i as pure as i did today. I hit all my clubs well after working on this. The driver was still difficult but if i slowed things down I was able to hit some right down the middle.

By: golfconfidencepro. on 15 Apr 12, 23:16:59
Yes you can use the same technique with your irons. If you go to my channel you will find more than 40 videos covering different areas of the swing. Take a look at the video "how to start your downswing" which will help you? to improve your driver swing. Thanks for your comments and good luck.
By: JT4415. on 15 Apr 12, 04:49:49
@golfconfidencpro. Can you use the same technique with irons? Also I have been leaving my driver at home when I go out because I couldn't figure out what my problem was. (My driver has many indentations on the bottom because I come? over the top of the ball and slice it badly). Any other drills/videos you have made that would be helpful along with this one?
