Couldnt agree more- those bands never shake off their influences- The National have become their own influence - superficially they sound a bit like the Tindersticks or Joy Division- mostly because of Berninger's baritone- but they are truly original and very great song writers. I? advise any one to cast off any initial doubts and get into this lot- they will repay your patience in spades.
