It's not a good idea to try and create artificial lag. It causes too many timing problems releasing the hands and a loss of power most of the time. From the top of the swing, the lower body and trunk should initiate the downswing and the hands should gradually release on the? downswing for a powerful strike. It's the way Nicklaus did it and Tiger with the Butch Harmon swing. Basically, a good golf swing creates lag. This is counterproductive advice for high handicappers.

I can read it ok. I said originally that? his swing is correct for him because it worked exceptionally well for him having redesigned his swing and then going off and winning 6 majors. Everyone is different and it therefore follows that there are no absolutes in what is or is not the correct golf swing. My thoughts have been the same for 20 years even though that may not add anythng to my argument but Tom Watson is probably and I mean probably the template for nearly everyone.

You contradicted yourself. If your conclusion is that his swing is correct for him why do you ask us to look at Tom Watsons hip movements? Faldo has got it bang on, he hasn't said "move? your arms in this manor" or "pull your swing all the way back" or whatever. He's said take a decent stance and make sure that you don't follow through too early. As far as I know that works for almost every golfer.

Nice swing, but... a couple of things. You're reaching way too much at address, your arms aren't hanging naturally. That's clearly a compensation as when you swing, you lose your posture. Draw a vertical line along you bum at address, and see how you've moved your butt and hips 8-10 inches into the ball at impact. If you fix that? rotational move, you won't have to reach so much with your hands at address and rely on two different adjustments to make a right out of two wrongs!

Thanks for the comment.? I'm a +1. It was pretty cold that day actually...always a perfect time to make sure you are swinging smooth and making solid contact. otherwise...catch a couple thin with those blades and your hands arent going to be able to take much more haha.

That's just gorgeous. So so smooth. I've recently? realised the importance of tempo myself..... but realising its importance and being able to put it into effect are two different things!!! Awesome stuff man, what do you play off? Has to be low right?
