All animal styles have some relation because they are done by humans. Snake shows agility and speed while the Mantis is more of a grappling animal. This doesn't mean that you can't develop speed with the Mantis form but the Northern Mantis uses moves such as hooking, low stances, pulling, striking the pressure points, kicks, and stances that require much balance. Mantis has less defense than Snake style does.? It's a lot more striking.

I couldn't agree more. Snake style and traditional kungfu in general was created for real combat and has no relation to a sport like MMA. How ever this video does not show snake style. The Shaolin Monks no longer perform any traditional kungfu in their stage shows. But I do think this video has alot in common with MMA, both are good examples of martial arts stripped of all depth and essence? in order to make a profit by catering to the lowest common denominator.

my thinking i think that the snake style is kinda related to the mantis style you have to have the same reflex and strengh except that this style consist of using your fist index and middle finger and your fore fingers(like mantis) the stances are kinda the same but it takes time to master this? art

I really like? your reply. The last competition that they has done did allow elbow strikes. So, that was more fair to the Muay Thai fighters. Besides, everyone could tell Sanda fighters won those matches not because of score cards. You could tell they were overwhelmed, and some of them got knocked out, too. Moreover, the Thai really sent their best champions to attend this competitions since they really cared about this cuz all their fights were watched by millions of people.

Don't you know there were 6 competitions of Chinese Sanda vs Muay Thai?! China and Thailand sent all their best champions to fight against each other in these competitions, and I really mean 'the best? fighters.' I'm not talking about in the damn ring. In a real life situation, EVERY martial arts style is EQUAL. It depends NOT on the style, but the practitioner. I am in a mixed martial arts. Shaoling kung fu, tae kwon do,? wing chun, ninjitsu, jiu jitsu, kick boxing. I've been in martial arts since seven years old. You put a ninjitsu master on the street against a Muay Thai, it only takes ONE punch the muay thai throws to loose the whole fight. Ever do full contact against Muay thai? I have. Lost? Never.

Depends what style... Pretty damn ignorant to say that. Most styles? aren't allowed in UFC and MMA for being too deadly. A lot focus on eye jabbing, breaking limbs, dislocating, hyperextending, and self defense in general. Muay thai would get killed against a Ninjitsu master.

you go ahead and think that, i hope you find a shaolin monk to mess with so i can scrape your puddle off the streets. the arts help you deal with situations in different ways, a mantis master may use his art in an intercepting fist like style to move the opponents limbs away, or just break limbs, while a snake master might just go for a nerve hit or something accurate to that amount as well. .it is still up to the practitioner to win/lose, succed/ fail,? etc.
