Filmed soon after Seve's 1984 win I think at St Andrews, both he and Lee Trevino take on Faldo and Aoki in a one club challenge over a few holes at the home of golf.

Seve learned how to play with an old 3-iron head on a stick for a shaft. No wonder he had such amazing hands. Some of those shots are doable though. If? you're good with the flop shot, you can learn to play it with a 3 iron. Seve would have loved watching Bubba win the Masters.

Surely during the final day, at the 18th hole, at the Ryder Cup, the cameras caught this!
Where is it? Why is it not shown?
HAS ANYONE EVER SEEN IT? At least then we will know a recording was made of it.

I witnessed the shot. It happened. I lived in Palm Beach Gardens in 1983, right by PGA National. I followed Fuzzy & Seve (with Seve's girlfriend) the entire match. When I saw his lie in the bunker there was no doubt in my mind he was laying up. He didn't. His 3-wood cleared the lip by about an inch & my first though was, it's in the water. When it landed on the green I was stunned, as was everyone else. But that was Seve - he didn't make you applaud...he made you slack-jawed in disbelief. ?

Furthermore - in 1983 the Ryder Cup was a non-contest in American eyes. Hardly any spectators turned up, and the TV networks over there were given extremely limited air time to cover it. They certainly didn't have cameras on every match, let alone film every shot. I have seen (on a now-closed German website) most of the US broadcast of the '83 RC and? it started after Seve's match had finished. Like Sarazen's 1935 shot, I don't think we'll ever find this. I hope I'm proved wrong!

Not meaning to be rude, I'm just very sceptical. I've been a golf nut since the mid-80s, the biggest Ryder Cup (and Seve fan) for 25 years, and there hasn't been one video, documentary or piece of footage that? I haven't seen in that regard. And yet I've never once seen 'the shot' (& clearly I'd remember it!). Look how many Seve documentaries have been made, especially since he died. Every TV network in the world will have been scouring their archives for it, and yet no-one's found it.

If you really think you've seen this shot "on several occasions" you're either genuinely mistaken or lying. No footage of it exists. I've seen all the recorded footage there is of the final day of the '83 Ryder Cup, and it starts about half an hour after Seve's match had finished. In those days the Ryder Cup was? very low priority on the American TV networks.

Dear Sevefan, Thanks. The bunker shot is an aerial shot from a camera which shows the true beauty of? his shot carving through the air. There has never been a golfer as exciting as Seve and one who the British, in particular, adored so much. My favourite clip is the '95 Ryder Cup singles with Lehmann when he kept escaping. Truly inspiring apart from being laugh-out-loud outrageous. What a guy - it was a privilege to be alive during his era. God bless him for the pleasure and thrills he gave us.

I just watched Yahoo's 5-minute clip on the 1983 Ryder Cup - it appear's Sevvy's match concluded early, thus there may not have been TV cameras on at the time. ? Maybe a baseball or football game cut into the broadcast.

Que Lindo! The one thing that has always stood out about Seve is his comportment and demeanor at all times. He is such a laid back fluid player. He doesn't get angry but will become passionate. There is a big difference between the two emotions. Passionate responses will elevate his position for the? next swings, while anger is wholly fruitless. You can learn quite a lot from Severano! the first time? i watched seve at wentworth was in 1978 during his semi with simon owen.i stood behind the 16th tee and watched him shank a 1-iron miles high into someone's garden.after a few spanish pleasantries he pulled his driver out and smashed the provisional over the small track that cuts across the fairway.a good memory for me and a bad day for him,he went on to lose the match 3and2,i always wonder if anyone else saw this shot.

Thank you very much. My aim for these videos was to keep his memory alive and to share the thrills and the teeth grinding he caused me over 20 years! I taped all his play on VHS from around 1983, I have hours and hours of Seve but not the time to edit it. This is a great collection of wonderful golf from Seve - thankyou and as someone else said the music is great too. I first saw Seve play when he was 18 years old and I watched him? throughout his whole carreer. I miss him greatly and he cannot be replaced so clips like these are gold to all golf fans especially ones in the future who will not have seen him play so thankyou once again.

I remember watching the matchplay from Wentworth when Seve was working for The BBC. He was with Ken Brown out on the course describing the difficulty of? reading the greens. They were at the 6th or something with only a few spectators watching as the tournement had not started and Ken said that anything short of 20 feet away was nye on impossible. Seve put a ball down and with his putter, put it straight in the hole much to the delight of those watching, and Ken too. Would love to see that again.

I was there as well. Won the tickets in the old Evening Press. Seve was funny. Jack was technical. Seve hit a ball over 250 yds off his? knees. Said he was "ian Woosnam". Jack had won the Masters that year and if memory serves, Seve shot a 63 in the last round of the Open the previous day. The match itself was obviously meant to be a tie, but Seve holed an outrageous chip on the last from over 70 feet to beat Jack. We will never see anything like him again. RIP

I agree on a couple of points. Yes, it was a brilliant Masters by far as I can remember in my 43 years!!! Remember too, Seve was? 3 shots clear when he finished this hole, albeit for a minute or two until Kite got his birdie. We all know then what happened on 15, perhaps you are right, maybe he was thinking about his winning speach instead of the shot at hand.

I remember watching this and I was rooting for Nicklaus (like most) but not necessarily against Seve as I was always a fan. At the time it struck me as strange that he shook hands with his his brother Vicente after the shot...almost as if it was a bad omen.As he was leaving the 13th green with an? eagle you could sense he and his brother celebrating the forthcoming victory. The crowd too was accepting he would win and not Nicklaus. What a finish, best Masters ever and I saw 1975. It was crazy.
