It may be so that small hotels are owned by Croats but most tourists go to the most popular ones which are owned by Germans. Also you do realize Croatia's debt in 1992 was 3 billion, now its $68.69 billion. So i don't really see how Croatia is better off with Germans owning its tourist industry and most of the profit doesn't even go to the Croatian government but it gets even worse when? most of the banks in Croatia are also owned by Germans. Good luck on fixing that.

This movie is such bullshit. Almost all of the smaller boutique hotels are Croat-owned, while Austria/Germany bought many of the larger hotel complexes & built new ones, which was? a good thing as they renovated hotels which the communists never touched since the 70s. During the Yugo era, 100% of the tourism revenue went to Belgrade to fund poorer regions such as Kosovo & Macedonia, so we prefer the current situation as at least the Austrians/Germans reinvest into our coast & make it look modern!

personally i don't understand while renault built in romania dacia...while average salary is not more than 200 euros in kosovo ( to? not say less )....and we product in china... just a ridiculous exemple...main material from ikea company is made in china..."ridiculous" things like spoon, glasses, chairs, office, kitchen...etc etc...why not in balkan ? there could be a great industry there !! corruption don't help...we are all "independant"...ok...is the situation better ?

main problem is because politicians created image that economy based on tourism is good which is not truth we should to create real industry? and stop focusing on tourism
