@episteme420: Like Hayao? Miyazaki's anime films (Studio Ghibli). I haven't seen an anime better than GRAVE OF THE FIREFLIES (1988). To me it stands alone as the one true masterpiece of anime. Only AKIRA (1988) came close due to its amazing visual? technical merits and outstanding musical score.

SPOILER!!! I? found the plot device of showing Masane's and Maria's eyes 'revert to normal' yet remain bodily in their transformed states as death approached them to be a stroke of dramatic / artistic genius! It makes their death scenes all the more touching and memorable when I saw them! I guess series director Yoshimitsu Ohashi came up with that simple yet great idea beautifully executed in the anime -- especially with Masane as she sacrificed herself to save Rihoko and Tokyo.

Xelement18, I know Witchblade started out as a USA comic book--I haven't read it yet. According to IMDB, the people there rate the WITCHBLADE anime higher than the 2 live action TV versions that came before it - proof that the anime had more to offer the viewer in spite of the violence and 'cheesecake' in it. Also, stories like this are told best in animation. A? live-action version would need lots of expensive CGI or it will look cheesy like Japanese sentai shows (think POWER RANGERS).

Watch GRAVE OF THE FIREFLIES and see the excellence anime can attain. Only AKIRA came closest to it due to technical merit. COWBOY BEBOP and this are both fictional, futuristic, contain drama, multiple storylines, fanservice and have tragic endings-so why hate the WITCHBLADE anime? There is more to anime than brazen cash grab toy tie-in stuff like POKEMON, YU-GI-OH, and BAKUGAN. Seek out older stuff made in the golden era of modern anime? (1980s - 1990s) like BUBBLEGUM CRISIS and ICZER-1

you should read the comic. tha'ts where it originated. it was an american comic book way? before the amazing look was ruined by anime...

you know waht annoys me. people tell me anime has serreal stroylines. this was an american hero comic before it was an anime. so this story? is a comic book. which mean comics are jsut as serreal as anime. plus this anime took away the nice look the comic gave the character. it doesn't have the feeling of witch blade. it just looks like every other anime i've ever had the misfortune of watching... the only anime's i like are bleach, coboy bebop and any marvel character made into an anime.

Thank you for putting the "spoilers" word in the title. ^^?

Thank you. I'm glad that you liked this...even though YouTube 'ruined' it by re-encoding it. I am thankful and? grateful that what I was trying to 'say' with this work was still able to 'shine' through the reduced video quality and unsynchronized audio.

The ending this is probably what made me want to say OMFG. 5/5 and fav?

There are not that many cuts I made to put this together. Kiyoshi Hirose did a great job editing the last episode 'Light' from which this AMV was derived. His work? and that of music composer Susumu Hirasawa combined together into this is something special to me. Because making videos is SO hard to do a good job and having YouTube re-encode my work and 'ruin' it, has likely ended my video career here. This is probably the only video I'll have here. Coment on this vid and browse my faves plz.

Sadly, yes it is.... ;_; (-_-) :( Rest in peace, Masane.... Yes I know this series is fictional and clogged with the things that make anime a 'guilty pleasure', yet beneath it all is the tragic, yet heartwarming story of a mother's love for her child. See it all? [24 episodes] if you can.)
