Everybody This Does Work !!! I have just tried to load a .mov file from my Panasonic Video Camera into Windows DVD Maker and it wouldn't work. I created a copy and followed the steps in the video and? changed the copy to .mpg , The .mpg file will load into Windows DVD Maker and burn to DVD. This is so simple you do not need a video converter for this type of change.

Sorry I didn't mean to double post, I didn't realize my first comment posted. But just because the file becomes "playable" doesn't mean that its been converted. The file will play fine sometimes, however if you actually wanted to do editing with this clip, you need to actually convert it. The program I use for .mod conversions is called MpegStreamclip and it actually converts the file instead of renaming it. I'm a video editor by profession and I? can assure you that converting isn't that easy.

well is playing it in windows media player essential? try uploading one of the vids to ur youtube account (you could always delete it later) and see if it plays with sound on youtube. The picture quality can be adjusted. This video is shot using? the lowest quality setting but my other videos using this camera are better quality.

Hey there, i did this and it works.. however it only plays on VLC player with sound. On windows? media player it says sumthing about an error downloading codec at the start and then it plays without sound. Dont suppose u would no why? Also the picture quality doesnt seem that great really...how is yours? Maybe its just the camera

what video editing software are you using? does it normally support .avi files? coz u could try converting the file to a? different file type like .mpg or .wmv (super will convert the files with ease)

why is it my camcorder has the youtube logo and a one touch upload button and it doesnt even upload anything? i do all the crap it says in the book its looking good and then it fails at the last 10% anyone thinking about getting? this jvc think again cos it isnt even compatable with the most comon and prominent operating systems movie editing devices!! and the jvc is not all that good anyway the focusing sucks and u may as well save and get the next best camcorder that does what it says!

i'm not using the software so that's not the problem, are you sure it's recording in 16:9 coz when i do there's no problem. Check the settings on the camera (i think by default all but the lowest? quality is 16:9)

personally i have never used the? "one touch upload" so it's not a required feature. The low quality mode (the youtube mode) can be seen in my .mod to .mpg vid (thats what i used to record it) it defaults to 4:3 format and is a lowish quality in order to facilitate ease of upload. The "one touch" feature uses the supplied software and only works with said software. I've never used it so i can't verify. if you need help with anything else (even non camera related) just ask!

Hi, I've got another question on this camera: according to trustedreviews, you can't use the "one touch upload" button unless you've already shot your vid in youtube mode, is tha true? Also, does that mean videos in "youtube mode" are smaller and not good enough to watch on your tv, or does the mode just limit the videosize to 10 minutes? ?

well most modern nvidia and ati graphics cards seem to work with the drivers. Have you the restricted? drivers turned on? if you have and you still can't get it then u've an old unsupported card and u'll need a new one.

i don't think u can install the restricted drivers when running the live disk, you might be able to i donno. The advanced desktop effects need u to install the full driver for ur graphics card (sometimes this is turned? off by default in ubuntu)
