This game was a precursor to the matchup of these 2 teams in the Finals, which took place just a few months later.
The league had a brief scare as one of it's preimmenent figures (Magic) was taken from the game via ambulance.
Although later revealed the departure was just for precautionary measures, at that time, it caused major concern for fans across the board..

I agree. Watching this video you indeed don't get the sense that the Bulls(and MJ) sort of half-assed it. But believe me, they did. Even in crunch time when the game hung in balance, MJ's heart didn't seem to be in it. He was making these half-hearted moves that wasn't like him at all. The usual precision of his game just wasn't there. I too have actually never really seen MJ "dog" it. But? by his standards I'd say he came off pretty lazy in this one.

When the NBA at 50 came out in 1996-97 I was only 8 years old but I had the poster, the NBA at 50 VHS, the NBA at 50 book, watched the NBA at 50 halftime show. Does it really matter which team was the last "true" dynasty or not? I read the comments of this video. It's really not worth the fuss and it's not worth fighting about. The Shaq/Kobe teams were good, because not many teams have ever three-peated, yet they did it. The Spurs team winning 4 titles in 9 years, and 3 titles in 5 years at one point,? is very impressive as well. I could care less what was the last "true dynasty". All of these teams deserve to be respected for their success.

This was the inauguration year of the Timberwolves & they came out scrappin' & fighing for this game. They really pushed the Bulls in this one.
I honestly think MJ & Co. didn't expect this kind of effort from an expansion team.
But in the end, it was simply TOO MUCH MJ for the newly formed T'wolves to contend with..

Are you kidding me with that leap at 1:00? There is no doubt in my mind that Jordan could have been a gold medalist in the long jump, the high jump, the 100 meter, and 200 meter dash. Allegedly he ran a 4.3 40-yard dash. He also is the only guy I've seen that would grab the ball with both hands off a steal and a breakaway and then start his dribble. I don't think the refs ever saw that? before either because they never called a travel on it.

That's how "LOW" the standards have been set for today's players/game. Yeah I hear ya.. Dale Ellis was the shit. That brotha could shoot the lights out. Imagine if he got the chance to play with MJ & Scottie,? without the added burden of guarding the opposing team's best big guard/forward & he "ONLY" had to worry about the offensive end.. He may have played longer..

This was a great game that featured a young Air Jordan & Clyde "The Glyde" Drexler. Another one of my favorite players on that Blazer team, was Kiki Vandeweigh, who was a very underrated scorer & great complimentary player, as was on display in this game because he went for 35 pts. The Glyde went for 27.
