you're just not listening properly. I said "pump gas, medium boost." that's 13psi. High boost is 19psi, which will yield 950 at the wheels on pump gas. Add race gas (106) and the car will make an even 1,050 at the wheels, which is 1200 at the crank. Just because a car has 1200? hp on tap doesn't mean it always needs to use it.

...makes you wonder why it's so damn expensive. Carbonfiber panels are ridiculously expensive, but not several 100k for just one car. Was never a fan of the Ultimate aero either for the same reasons i don't like the Venom. However it didn't cost anything near a million dollars, Jerod Shelby isn't an ignorant twat and the? car atleast has it's own design. I'm exited for the Tuatara aswell and i really hope they go for a more luxury feel similar and not a kit-car ish interior like last time :)

yes that's why Koenigseggs first cars used Ford blocks and when they could afford it, built their own engine. I think their first car too use a bespoked engine was chassie 30 or 31 wich was the CCX TopGear tested. Hennessey has most likely built far? for more cars than Koenigsegg before the Venom GT. I'm not sure if Koenigsegg always has used a bespoked Xtrack gearbox but i'm pretty sure that they have while the Venom uses a Ford GT box. The fact that almost nothing on the Venom is bespoked...

getting a whole new engine engineered and built costs millions and millions.. buying an ls3, adding forged parts and twin turbos costs less than 50k.. engineering a carbon fiber chassis is even more..those twisty koenigsegg doors.. innovating a whole new compound (carbotanium) is the most impressive. haha, i am looking forward to the new tuatara though, that has the potential to be a proper $million car.. jerod shelby seems like a passionate guy, whos not looking to rip people off? >:(

exactly. The idea of selling a bang for the buck hypercar that still costs 1.000.000 for millionares is simply idiotic since millionares doesn't need bang for the buck. And i don't get the price either.. A Corvette engine with twin turbos can't cost anything nere what a european bespoked engine costs. Same goes with the Ford GT gearbox and all other? in house parts Hennessey uses. Koenigsegg and Pagani are tiny companies aswell but can still make everything bespoked and make profit from it.

the enzo used to cost 600k now it costs over a million. its value increases by the day. i can't see the venom GT value increasing, yes it does some crazy numbers, but so do alot of cars, they still dont win? the hearts of millionaires around the world. if you want to go fast in spartan car, get a mosler, or an ultima GTR, both will be faster, lighter and handle better than the venom, and they WILL feel just as special, they're almost as rare and but will turn just as many heads

I absolutely understand what you guys are saying, but for me its not really about the usability because I think that's not what this car is about. I look at it in the same way I see a pagani, not really useable but something special and nuts and that's what makes it a supercar. Sure you van make more power and put it in a lighter car or other such approaches, but this company's approach is so cool and unique and that's why I love? it.

I think its very possible to get to the 750 range to the ground even if you had to go a little routy on the cams also using a methanol injection kit would help get it there. I know its 100 whp less than the turbo engine but its going to be lighter and cheaper to run than a monster turbo engine like this and you could fit it into any car that came with? a v8
