I know you need a quick downswing, but this video is good for short shots next to the green where you want the ball? to get in the air, but not fly across the green. This just slows down the ball, not putting a lot of backspin and making the ball roll towards you on the green. It is very hard to put backspin on the ball at this distance.

opening the clubface makes the ball fly higher meaning it lands softer and doesnt skip forward for a start. he is saying that you want to the club to hit the? ball on the up swing YOU DONT!!! a downward blow into the ball with a mid to high club head speed and clean grooves on the club will put spin on the ball.
