Correct me if I'm wrong but you have an 80 tooth sprocket on the axle and with that motor and clutch you need to go for a 60 tooth sprocket, that way you won't sacrifice good launching while achieving a respectable top speed as well. The front sprocket looks? just fine to me. Also you need a little more tension on that belt so that it will dig deep into the driven pulley and provide better top speed but not to much or it will not disengage at idle and youll burn end up burning it

the wire that comes out of of the engine block and goes to a little metal thing with another wire that goes to the kill switch, just snip it? right at the block and your low oil shutoff problem is solved.

I need to upgrade my brakes since it originally had a 6HP on it. And I think I have to re-gear it since it's not as fast as I was expecting. The only problem I have with the engine is the low oil shutoff safety. If I turn hard, it shuts off. I have to look up how to bypass that. The converter and engine are awesome though, and once I get some better brakes on it, re-gear it, and figure a way to? hook up my throttle cable, I'm sure it will be awesome.

I just bought the same motor and the 40 series Comet torque converter, I'm putting it on a frame really only meant for a 6.5hp. I'm having a lot of trouble for insistence it was meant for a asymmetric not symmetric torque converter. Can you give me some info like how fast did it go with the Greyhound, any problems with engine or converter, how does it climb hills, the more you can tell me the better. I need to know if its going to? be worth the $ and effort. Great frame, Manco 616B. Thanks

there's a driver "clutch" and a driven? unit. at like 1:08 you see the driver which tightens up the belt the faster the motor is spinning. the belt spins the driven unit which has a spring in it too and that spins the jackshaft which has a chain which spins the axle. No clutch other than the "driver clutch" which is part of the torque converter set up.

A live axle means that the rear axle, in it's entirety moves as a whole. Some go karts have just one wheel that has power as a result from the drive chain and sprocket being connected to only one wheel. If the sprocket is connected to the axle and both tires spin, and you can see the axle spin the entire lenght, that is a live axle...? :)

i'm not 100% on what a live axle is. but as far as i know, it is. ? There is a gear on the axle itself that has a chain that connects to the gear on the jackshaft. that's what a live axle is right?

Thanks :), I really like the deep sound that it has. I took out the cat, and have no muffler on there :) haha. I am thinking about putting on a muffler just to quiet it up though. That, or maybe a flowmaster super 44.? Unless you have a suggestion of a nice sounding exhaust :) Thanks.
