if u still got this car id recommend going through and doing everything. new spark plugs and wires, adjust the timing and valves, change? the oil, and go through the intake and check for vacuum leaks. u should probably spray a shitload of carb cleaner through the motor too. i did all this to my bug which sounded pretty similar to ur car before and now it idles perfect. hasnt stalled on me once. vroom vroom!

the 4 wheel discs are very easy to install...should get those...nd they work wonders even a cheaper kit would be a major upgrade over? the drums, or you could go all out with a porsche 944 disc brake kit...all kinds of possibilities

I recently adjusted my automatic choke. The engine start's and? idle's without stalling even when it is very cold outside.

My 68 stalls and sounds lumpy just like this one. And mine's also a Frankenbug. I've had it for about 8-9 months and I've done a lot of work to it, and it behaves and sounds a lot better than it did when I got it. But I think somebody at some point got a '74 for parts and started sticking the parts on mine, everything from interior to engine. I think once I get a carb and dizzy that match, and rebuild the fuel pump, she'll not stall all the time after starting or coming to a fast stop.?

Not yet unfortunately. I haven't driven it since? I bought it. I think it would be good on a mountain tho. Despite what most people think the whole engine has been modified for longevity and performance. Also the suspension is lowered and different wheels fitted. I think it would be pretty good down a mountain, if the 4 wheel drum brakes don't fade. ;)

Sorry about the quality I? will try to make a few better videos soon. I recorded it with my 8mm video camera and captured it to the computer with an old webcam pointed at the tv.

It was a cold engine and hadn't been started in 6 months,? I think she was upset with me for that. I think I didn't engage the choke properly as well. I might have to adjust the idle but I ran the engine other day to do an oil change and it idled without stalling.

I think so, there are several parts from different years.? This thing is frankenstein of stock parts. The chassis code says 68 and it has a swing-axle rear-end and torsion bar front.
