I think Hogan says? so with the intention of capturing the "feel" of the drill. Hogan doesn't do exactly everything that is written in his book, what he's doing is trying to explain in words and illustrations what it "feels" like. Hope that helps.

I thought this video was before Hogan's accident? This is power golf era Hogan?? Why are you suggesting 5 Lessons for fans of this video? Hogan himself said that he never hit it as well after his wreck --- He did win a lot after that accident, but he wasn't happy with his swing. I personally think this video shows the best of Hogan and a swing that's easier to use than his later swing. Shoot he looks just like Snead in some of these clips!

This is the greatest ever at his peak in the 1940s. Before the accident that left him in near chronic? pain for the rest of his life, let alone career. With today's clubs, golf balls AND fairways and greens he would never miss a green and would be at least 1 to 2 strokes better than EVERYONE. He shot 62 in winning the war time Hale America National Open in 1942. That was his 5th open win, btw. Technology has made courses today much shorter than they were in his day, when 7000 yards were REAL.

If you truly want to know the details of Hogan's golf swing and put them to practice so you CAN get swing that is consistent, go buy a copy of Hogan's Five Lessons. If you already have the book, go back and read it and actually do everything Hogan mentions in his book and you will achieve a consistent golf swing, but the key is to not give up and don't brush details aside. The devil is in the details. If you have any questions about the? book, post them here and I'll try to answer them. Cheers!

Saying this is a respectful way since Im 15 but I practice and read everyday for 3-5 plus hours. I must say consider this- Hogan said to always swing as fast and hard as you can with the driver while maintaining balance and tempo. And sprinters who are used to running fast when they train they run downhill so there body gets used to running? fast. Now think of Hogan as a champion sprinter with probably one of the most athletic/powerful/beautiful/BEST controlled/fastet golf swing.
